The YouTube “top 10 list” aggregator WatchMojo.com put this out a few years ago. They always end their videos with “do you agree with our list?” Reading through the comments, it seems those who chose to post something were gave a resounding NO!!!
For what it’s worth, WatchMojo’s list had 6 out of 10 (with 2 out of 4 honorable mentions) from Series 1. Much of that is well deserved, though it is arguable that the Python’s writing and the show’s overall sophistication grew in Series 2 and 3.
All the sketches they list in their top 10, with the exception of “Spam”, are well represented in the live shows, “And Now For Something Completely Different”, or both.
They don’t give much justification for why the list is populated with the sketches they’ve chosen. Guess that would require a loquacious, quasi-intellectual podcast with hosts carrying on with an obsessive, nerdy attention to detail…
